The Record Street Home is an active place!
Key parts of the Record Street Home experience are the many activities that involve the residents and promote physical and mental health. A sense of community develops from the many organized activities as the residents gather and share fun with word games, exercises, crafts, card and bingo.
Programs unique to the Record Street Home include:
Musical programs and lectures by people from the Frederick community
Religious programs include bible studies, monthly ministerial service and
communion for various denominations
Residents also enjoy:
Discussions groups such as Great Decisions
Shopping trips and walks in the park
The Strawberry Festival, Special dinners, Ice cream socials
Monthly social hour, “Late Sleepers morning breakfast”
Sing-a-longs, Story telling, Saturday movies
A puzzle table is always up, Craft projects are often in progress
Computers are available the activity room for email and games
Participation is encouraged, but not mandatory.
One of the recent volunteer activities that the Ladies of the Record Street Home
participated in the preservation of World War II History through StoryCorps.
