Congratulations! You have just discovered the best kept secret in Frederick.
The Record Street Home is a small group retirement home categorized by the state of Maryland as assisted living. The Home is licensed for twenty-five residents. The Record Street Home is a private non-profit facility. Founded in 1892, this beautifully maintained residence is located in the heart of historic Frederick. Our mission has always been to provide a comfortable dwelling and lifetime care for those in need regardless of their ability to pay.
The Admission process screens the applicants to be sure they will adjust to our Home family. The process may take two or three months, but the care received is excellent and worth the effort. Basic requirements include anyone sixty-five years old, capable of caring for her own personal needs, enrolled in Medicare or equivalent health care coverage, and able to pass the necessary physical and mental examinations. The Home environment consists of twenty-five private, air-conditioned, cable-ready rooms where residents live independently, sharing lovely common areas.

Formal parlors, large and sunny activity room, cheerful dining room, and a lovely sheltered garden are available for the residents’ pleasure. Anyone can afford Record Street Home. The financial arrangement is based on each individual and more often than not, an applicant will not have the funds required to cover the full cost of care. However, the Home will subsidize that cost if the applicant qualifies otherwise. What cannot be described about Record Street Home is the intangible family atmosphere. This you have to experience for yourself. Come in for a tour and we will be happy to show you around and introduce you to residents.
We all want to be able to make our own plan for retirement living. Therefore, it is essential to apply to the Home before you need comprehensive nursing care.
